What is a car air conditioning expansion valve?

The expansion valve of the automobile air conditioner is to control the superheat of the gaseous refrigerant at the outlet of the evaporator to control the flow of refrigerant entering the evaporator. In the special air conditioner, because the evaporator has a branch and uses a shower head liquid separator, the pressure drop channel is relatively large, resulting in different temperatures at the inlet and outlet of the evaporator. The expansion valve is roughly composed of three parts: the valve body, the temperature sensing package, and the balance tube. Its function of throttling and reducing pressure is to change the medium-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant liquid into low-temperature and low-pressure wet steam before the refrigerant enters the evaporator. The refrigerant absorbs heat in the evaporator to achieve cooling effect. Classification of expansion valves for automotive air conditioners: Thermal expansion valves are divided into internally balanced and externally balanced.
