AC, DC, EC fan, what is the difference between three types of fans?

Fans are divided into AC fans, DC fans, and EC fans according to the different drive motors. The difference between the three types of fans is actually the different motors used by the fans, and their input power and control signals are different.

AC (Alternating Current, AC) fan, for AC power frequency fan, input AC, power frequency operation, only high, medium and low three gears of air volume, need to increase the frequency converter to convert the speed regulation.

DC (Direct Current, DC) fan, is a DC variable frequency fan, input direct current, need external conversion AC to DC. Commonly used are 12V, 24V, 310V, etc., fresh air mostly uses DC310V.

EC (Electrical Commutation) fan, DC brushless fan, input AC, built-in intelligent control module, conversion AC to DC use, and can adjust the speed according to the ambient temperature, small power consumption, only 1/3 of the industry standard fan.

AC fan, simple structure, low manufacturing cost, widely used. Compared with DC fans, it is easy to maintain and simple to control, and the disadvantages are large power consumption and high noise.

DC fan, with good starting characteristics and speed regulation characteristics, the use of DC is more energy-saving and environmentally friendly than AC, the disadvantage is that the controller needs to output DC for it, and the electromagnetic radiation is large.

EC fan, high intelligence, high energy saving, high efficiency, long life, low vibration, low noise, has obvious advantages in power saving and noise reduction. The disadvantage is that the manufacturing cost is relatively high and the later maintenance is complicated.

Of the above three fans, AC is AC fan, DC and EC are DC fans. AC and EC use alternating current, DC uses direct current, and it is necessary to additionally convert AC to direct current use.
